104th Congress, August 2, 1996
Shortly after the New York Times ad appeared, Sen. Rick Santorum,
a Republican from Pennsylvania, made a 10 minute statement on the
Senate floor saying if Sewering's murders are never avenged, "it
would be an abomination." This lead to passage of a resolution asking
the Bavarian government for action.
